Goulburn Mulwaree welcomes 20 new Australian citizens

The Goulburn Mulwaree community has welcomed 20 new Australian citizens at a citizenship ceremony last week.

The new citizens, originating from Brazil, Britain, India, Lebanon, Nepal, New Zealand, Pakistan, the Philippines, Scotland, Thailand, and the United States, were officially welcomed as part of the Council-hosted occasion.

Mayor, Nina Dillon, joined by Councillor Keith Smith, presented each new citizen with their citizenship certificate, marking the culmination of their journey to Australian citizenship.

Following the ceremony, the Mayor and Councillors hosted a morning tea, providing an opportunity for the new citizens, their families, and friends to come together and celebrate their milestone.

Mayor Dillon said the ceremony was a reminder of the community’s diversity and unity.

“It’s always an honour to welcome new Australians into our Goulburn Mulwaree community,” she said.

“Each new neighbour adds their own stories, traditions, and spirit, helping our community grow stronger.

“Goulburn Mulwaree Council extends a warm congratulations to all new citizens on this memorable occasion.”
