Goulburn gallery nominated for IMAGinE Awards

The Goulburn Regional Art Gallery has been announced as a nominee in three categories of the 2023 IMAGinE Awards.

The awards highlight the resilience, innovation and creativity of museums, galleries and Aboriginal cultural centres and recognise the people who work in them.

“We are thrilled to hear that Goulburn Regional Art Gallery has been announced as a Nominee for the 2023 IMAGinE Awards,” said Goulburn Mulwaree Council Chief Executive Officer, Aaron Johansson.

“This is a recognition of the calibre of the Gallery in bringing high quality art exhibitions, experiences and education outcomes to the community.

“With over 40 years of history, the Gallery is an important pillar of our creative landscape,” he said.

The nominated projects for Goulburn Regional Art Gallery are:

  • The group exhibition ‘All Light, all air, all space’ curated by Gallery Director Yvette Dal Pozzo
    featuring works by D Harding, Rosalie Gascoigne, Megan Cope, Cameron Robbins, Bonita Ely and Rebecca Mayo. This exhibition is nominated in the category ‘Exhibition Projects’ for
    Small Galleries;
  • ‘The Window’, an ongoing engagement and exhibition project where the Gallery invites artists, writers, curators and arts supporters from the community and beyond are invited to
    select works from the Gallery’s Permanent Collection to display. This project is nominated
    for in the category ‘Engagement Program’ for Medium Organisations;
  • Jenny Bell ‘Life Forms’ exhibition curated by Anne Sanders, the accompanying original
    publication and innovative public programs nominated in the category ‘Innovation and
    Resilience Award’ for projects with a budget of between $10,001 and $100,000.

“It is so wonderful to be recognised as a nominee in three categories for the 2023 IMAGinE Awards,” said Goulburn Regional Art Gallery Director, Yvette Dal Pozzo.

“The Gallery is working at a really high standard, developing original exhibitions and unique engagement opportunities. It is an exciting period where we are successfully elevating the voices of local artists as well as bringing innovative works from leading artists from around Australia to Goulburn.

“The IMAGinE Awards provides a great platform to celebrate with industry peers from museums and galleries across NSW, recognising the creativity, impact and innovation in the sector and the positive impact Galleries have on their communities,” she said.

The awards personation night for the IMAGinE Awards will take place at Sydney Modern, Art Gallery of NSW on 28 November.
