Georges River Council is conducting two key infrastructure assessments to improve the safety, connectivity, and long-term maintenance of local roads and footpaths.
The Council recently performed a detailed survey of its 393km sealed road network, focusing on traffic facility asset collection. The survey was carried out by Infrastructure Management Group, using camera-equipped, transporter-style vehicles.
From 12 May, Council will begin a week-long inspection of its 519km footpath network. This survey, also managed by Infrastructure Management Group, will use quad bike-style vehicles operated by certified pavement inspectors.
During these assessments, all cameras are focused on the road and footpath surface structure, with limited viewing of adjacent areas, and no image recordings of commercial, residential, private properties, or structures will be undertaken.
