New Whitsunday Regional Council Mayor, Julie Hall, will take part in her first Ordinary Meeting of Council as Mayor on Wednesday following a recent Mayoral by-election in the municipality.
Mayor Hall was declared as the Mayor of Whitsunday Regional Council by the Electoral Commission of Queensland on 25 August and was sworn in by Council CEO, Rod Ferguson on 29 August.
The Mayor is a former One Nation candidate and spiritual advisor.
She won the top job through preferential votes, despite coming third in the first preference vote count.
The new Mayor secured 53% of the preferential votes, with former Acting Mayor, Mike Brunker finishing with 46%.
