City of Coffs Harbour Council General Manager, Natalia Cowley, has been awarded one of the highest honours in international financial leadership – receiving the esteemed Outstanding Contribution to the Public Sector Award from the Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand.
The prestigious accolade, presented at the annual awards ceremony in Canberra last night, celebrates Ms Cowley’s exceptional leadership in navigating complex financial reforms for two major regional NSW councils.
“I am honoured and humbled to be recognised by my Chartered Accountant peers,” said Ms Cowley (pictured), who was instrumental in helping Central Coast Council to achieve one of the most significant financial turnarounds in Australian local government history, before joining the City of Coffs Harbour as its first female General Manager.
Ms Cowley’s award nominator wrote: “She is leading an agile, fast-paced, ambitious and innovative $250 million organisation that is in charge of its financial destiny.”
