Entrepreneurs invited to Propel Fremantle

Entrepreneurs are being invited to join a new City of Fremantle Council initiative aiming to provide aspiring founders with a range of support to turn their innovative ideas into reality.

Applications to join the inaugural program, Propel Fremantle, are now open.

The new program, supported by Spacecubed, Lotterywest, gives successful applicants access to a variety of resources, including subsidised access to incubators, coaching, mentoring, office space, networks, memberships, legal and accounting services, and more.

Ventures selected for participation are required to contribute 10% of the total cost of services received, making the opportunity very accessible to those with promising ideas who are in the early stages of their business development, Council said in a statement.

The Propel Fremantle Program is specifically seeking ventures or ideas that align with one of the key sectors: Blue (Marine) Economy, Sustainability, or Immersive / Creative Technology.

Mayor, Hannah Fitzhardinge said the collaborative initiative was a reflection of industry consultation to identify what was needed by emerging businesses.

“The temptation as a local government is to open a ‘hub’ to try and get businesses to come to your area.”

“What we’re doing is working with what already exists in Fremantle and giving new entrants to the market the kinds of support they might not otherwise yet be able to access to help them grow,” said Mayor Fitzhardinge.

Prospective candidates are invited to submit their Expression of Interest by visiting propelfremantle.com.au before Friday 8 September 2023.
