East Gippsland Shire Council this week farewelled Chief Executive Officer, Anthony Basford, who is departing the organisation after five years at the helm to take on an executive role with City of Greater Geelong Council.
“Anthony has led our organisation with clarity and dedication during some extraordinary times and was celebrated by our teams and stakeholders for his focus on people and ensuring that community was at the centre of all our decision making,” the Council said in a statement.
“Anthony was a staunch defender of his people and his qualities of honesty and integrity, building durable and authentic relationships and being outcomes focused are embedded into the fabric of our organisation.
“We thank Anthony for his dedication to East Gippsland and wish him all the very best for his new role.”
