Dwellingup slides into second at WA tourism awards

The WA town of Dwellingup won silver at last night’s Top Tiny Tourism Town awards.

It’s the fourth consecutive year the town has been recognised as one of Western Australia’s best destinations, having won gold in 2021 and 2023, and silver in 2022. It also follows last year’s national win, when Dwellingup was crowned Australia’s Top Tiny Tourism Town 2023.

The awards recognise and reward towns across WA that demonstrate a strong commitment to encouraging tourism and increasing visitation to the destination. Winners were announced last night at the 2024 Perth Airport Tourism WA Regional Tourism Conference Dinner in Mandurah.

Shire President, David Bolt said it is wonderful to see Dwellingup continue to receive the well-deserved recognition.

“I would like to thank everyone in Dwellingup’s tourism industry for the passion you all apply in making it such a stand-out place to visit. This award is a testament to your efforts, congratulations to you all,” said President Bolt.

“I’d also like to thank those of you who voted for Dwellingup. For many years we have worked with the community to deliver the vision of Dwellingup’s businesses and residents. The community support through voting acknowledged these efforts and shows continue to deliver the right vision for Dwellingup,” he said.

The Council says Dwellingup’s natural beauty and authentic country charm has secured its position as the State’s best trails and adventure destination.

Just over an hour’s drive from Perth, Dwellingup is one of Western Australia’s oldest towns with an abundance of history to be shared. It has a wealth of nature-inspired experiences and unique offerings that suit adventurers of all ages.

Dwellingup is home to incredible natural landscapes, from spectacular national parks to thriving river trails and towering old-growth forests that immerse visitors in their beauty. There’s also galleries, cafes, wineries and steam train experiences.

“Our congratulations also go to Kalbarri, for taking home gold and Coral Bay for taking home bronze,” said President Bolt.
