Diamond out of the rough in Bayswater

Morley Eagles Baseball Club is enjoying a brand-new practice facility at Crimea Park, funded by the City of Bayswater Council, the Morley Eagles, and WA’s Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries.

The $244,000 upgrade replaces the old practice nets with a modern training facility to support the club’s growing membership, the Council said in a statement.

The new facility features four batting lanes, a storage area and is designed to accommodate a future roof addition, enabling year-round training in any weather. The construction features a concrete slab, chain mesh fencing, synthetic turf and soft netting, improving both safety and functionality for players and the broader community.

“The City is proud to continue to support local sporting clubs by investing in infrastructure that promotes active, healthy and inclusive communities,” Council said.
