Councils partner for resilience expo

Wollondilly and Wingecarribee Shire Councils have teamed up with Resilience NSW and the National Recovery and Resilience Agency to host a three day virtual Response, Recovery and Resilience Expo next week.

The expo will provide information about who to contact at different stages of an emergency and will include links for participants to access, such as videos, documents and useful tips.

Residents will learn what they can do to make their families, friends and pets safer, by knowing the risks and planning for what actions they will take now and during an emergency.

The first session will focus on rebuilding and understanding Bushfire Attack Level (BAL) ratings; with guest speakers from Architect Assist, planners from both councils, Bushfire Consulting Services, NSW Rural Fire Service, Blackash and Master Builders Association.

The second session will feature keynote speaker, Commissioner Shane Fitzsimmons from Resilience NSW, along with representatives from Legal Aid and the Insurance Council of Australia.

The final session will include guest speaker, Anne Leadbeater and the local recovery support service, Community Links Wellbeing.

The expo, which will run from Friday 19 November to Sunday 21 November is free, but numbers are limited so registrations are essential to secure a place and access the full, interactive experience.
