Murrindindi Shire Council has unanimously resolved to offer Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Livia Bonazzi, a further five-year contract extension.
Ms Bonazzi (pictured) was appointed CEO on 8 June 2021 for an initial five-year term, which concludes on 6 June 2026.
In a statement, the Council said it appreciates Ms Bonazzi’s strong performance against the key performance indicators and her leadership through periods of significant organisational and external challenges.
Council also recognised her advocacy on behalf of Council at both State and Federal levels, her leadership during the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent emergencies, and her role in reshaping its organisational structure and operating model to support delivery of the Council Plan and evolving community expectations.
Mayor, Damien Gallagher said the decision reflected Council’s focus on long-term leadership stability and strategic delivery.
“We are navigating a roadmap to financial sustainability. This resolution provides certainty and continuity at a critical point in Council’s planning and delivery cycle,” Mayor Gallagher said.
“Council is confident that Ms Bonazzi’s leadership will continue to support the implementation of our Council Plan, strengthen organisational capability, and deliver outcomes that align with the long-term interests of the Murrindindi community.”
