Public hearings for the Victorian Parliamentary inquiry looking at how state and local government, statutory authorities and essential service providers consult with communities is set to resume tomorrow.
Organisations representing a diverse range of community members are scheduled to give evidence from 9am on Friday.
These include Ethnic Communities’ Council of Victoria, COTA Victoria and Seniors Rights Victoria, Dementia Australia, Youth Affairs Council of Victoria, Commission for Children and Young People, and Nngaweeyan Maarr-oo Closing the Gap Partnership Forum in the morning sessions.
After the lunch break, Carers Victoria, Disability Advocacy Victoria, Municipal Association of Victoria, Women’s Health Goulburn North East, and Climbing Victoria will appear before the Committee.
The inquiry is looking at how state and local government, statutory authorities and essential service providers consult with communities and whether certain groups or regions are underrepresented by existing consultation practices.
“There’s already been a high level of interest in our inquiry, we have held some roundtables with community members, and this is the second day of public hearings,” Committee Chair Ryan Batchelor said.
