Coffs Coast to host Festival of New Thinking

Some of the world’s best business strategists will bring their expertise to the ‘Festival of New Thinking’ to be held in Coffs Harbour this month.

The Festival at Pacific Bay Resort on May 17 will see business people, creatives and entrepreneurs across the Coffs Coast unite to think differently, apply innovative ideas and create long-term business growth, Coffs Harbour City Council’s Section Leader Industry Destination Development, Fiona Barden said.

“We have scoured the country to identify innovative thinkers who are also practical people that know how to translate ideas into hands-on tools for local business. They will share tools and skills that Coffs Coast businesses can quickly turn into value for their customers,” said Ms Barden.

“We’re living in times of unprecedented change and the Festival is aimed at helping strengthen the skills of our local businesses, both established and emerging, so that they can identify future trends and ride the wave rather than be left behind.”

Leading business strategist, Steve Tighe (pictured) – author and speaker on the future, strategy and innovation – will be the keynote speaker at ‘Rethinking Business’, the first stage of the Festival Of New Thinking (FONT).

He is the former National Foresight Manager at global brewer Foster’s, and has worked with some of Australia’s leading companies, exploring future scenarios for their industry and designing innovative strategies in response.

FONT will be delivered in several stages over the next 12 months beginning with ‘Rethinking Business’.

Council says FONT is perfect for all local enterprises, big and small, to:

  • Learn and apply new ways of thinking and doing;
  • Discover insights into your customers and their expectations; and
  • Embrace powerful, future-planning ideas to help your business adapt and flourish in a changing world.

The ‘Festival of New Thinking: Rethinking Business’ will be held on Monday, 17 May, from 1:30pm to 6:30pm at Pacific Bay Resort. Early bird tickets are available for only $25.
