Clarence Valley Council has won two bronze awards at the North Coast Regional Tourism Awards in Coffs Harbour.
Council’s tourism team, My Clarence Valley, was nominated in the Tourism Retail, Hire and Services and Cultural Tourism categories in recognition of its ongoing commitment to visitor experiences and cultural tourism development.
The promotion of the Plunge Arts & Culture Festival and delivery of the Clarence Valley Public Art Trail earned My Clarence Valley a nomination in the Cultural Tourism category.
Held throughout April each year, the Plunge Arts & Culture Festival celebrates and showcases the diverse arts and cultural experiences on offer across the Clarence Valley.
The Clarence Valley Public Art Trail highlights the region’s impressive collection of murals and sculptures, transforming everyday spaces into captivating visual stories. The trail adds colour, character and cultural richness to streets, towns and villages throughout the Valley, encouraging visitors to explore the region in a unique and engaging way.
My Clarence Valley’s nomination in the Tourism Retail, Hire and Services category highlighted the sustainable approach to destination management that the team has been implementing over the past few years, the Council said in a statement.
It says the nomination also shone a light on the strong collaboration with local businesses through the Visitor Information Outlets program, which has been designed to create more meaningful connections between visitors and the Clarence Valley experience.
