Central Darling Shire Council is investigating a bogus website which is reportedly impersonating the organisation.
“We are taking this matter extremely seriously,” the Council said in a statement.
“Council has requested that the fake site be immediately taken down.”
The Council has also reported the website to the Incident Response Team at Cyber NSW.
“Various other cyber security actions have been taken,” Council said.
“Central Darling Shire Council does not operate any website other than https://www.centraldarling.nsw.gov.au.
“Anyone with concerns or information which may assist in the investigation of this matter can contact Central Darling Shire Council: council@centraldarling.nsw.gov.au.”
