Central Darling Shire GM on the move to Coonamble

Central Darling Shire Council has announced the resignation of General Manager, Greg Hill, who is leaving to take up the role of General Manager at Coonamble Shire Council.

Mr Hill (pictured) has served as General Manager at Central Darling since April 2018, leading the organisation through a period of significant transformation, investment, and community engagement across one of the largest and most remote local government areas in NSW, the Council said in a statement.

He strengthened governance and service delivery, oversaw major infrastructure investments, modernised Council’s ICT systems, and enhanced community facilities and services, the Council stated.

Reflecting on his time with the Council, Mr Hill said it had “been a privilege to work alongside such dedicated staff, resilient communities, and committed partners across government to deliver meaningful improvements for Central Darling”.

“This region is unique in both its challenges and its strengths, and I am proud of what we have achieved together. While I am excited to take on new challenges at Coonamble, I will always value my time here and the people who make this Shire so special,” he said.

Council Administrator Bob Stewart thanked Mr Hill for his leadership and contribution.

“Greg has brought structure, strategic thinking and a strong delivery focus to Central Darling Shire Council. Under his guidance, Council has strengthened its governance, delivered major infrastructure projects, and built important relationships with community and government,” said Mr Stewart.

“We thank him sincerely for his service and wish him every success in his new role.”

The Council said it will commence the recruitment process for a new General Manager shortly to ensure a smooth leadership transition prior to Mr Hill’s departure on Friday 28 November.
