Campbelltown Council staffer chalks up half century

Campbelltown City Council recently recognised staffer, Charles (‘Charlie’) Silke, for an incredible 50 years of service to Council and the Campbelltown community.

He is the first Council employee to ever reach this significant milestone.

Mr Silke commenced employment with Council in June 1973 as one of its very first field staff.

He has spent the vast majority of his time at Council in the Park and Gardens Team, tending to the care of the reserves, parks, and sporting fields.

“Charlie goes above and beyond to serve our community; his loyalty, hard work and dedication is exemplary. Our sincere thanks and congratulations to Charlie on this extraordinary achievement,” Council said in a statement.
