Campaspe Shire Mayor re-elected

Chrissy Weller has been re-elected unopposed as Mayor of Campaspe Shire Council for a one year term.

Councillor Colleen Gates was elected as Deputy Mayor of Campaspe Shire Council, also for a one year term, at a meeting last night.

Mayor Weller thanked her fellow councillors for their support in her nomination and acknowledged former Deputy Mayor, Cr Pentreath for her assistance during the past year.

“I was honoured and humbled to be elected a new councillor last year and then Mayor. I am grateful for the opportunity to head the Council once again. I’ve enjoyed my first year as Mayor and am looking forward to building on my experience,” she said.

Mayor Weller thanked all councillors for their contributions across the past year and recognised that the team as a whole had a range of experience which was a benefit in dealing with the breadth and depth of decisions to be made.

“I am excited about the year ahead and enacting the plans we have put in place,” she said.

Council also approved appointments to represent council on various committees, forums and industry groups.
