Bursaries support Logan’s hardest working students

Six City of Logan students heading to university for the first time in 2025 have been given a helping hand with the cost of their studies, thanks to local businesses and Logan City Council.

Council has united with local industry to provide $5,000 over three years to each school leaver through the City of Logan Tertiary Educational Bursaries.

Mayor, Jon Raven said it would help local students pay for textbooks and technology while at university.

“Young people never forget who helped them at the start of their careers,” Mayor Raven said.

“My Chief of Staff received one of these tertiary educational bursaries when Pam Parker was Mayor.

“This helped her kick start her career in journalism and, after working for a former Prime Minister, she’s now serving the City of Logan in the Office of the Mayor helping people every day.”

Deputy Mayor Scott Bannan with Tertiary Educational Bursary recipients Carl Bayer (representing daughter Melissa), Emma Mulgrew, Mikayla Leo, Kamila Ahmed and Jake Ferrari.
