Nominations for the 2024 Brisbane Lord Mayor’s Multicultural Business Awards are now open – with the competition celebrating its 15th year of recognising the region’s multicultural pioneers, entrepreneurs and industry leaders.
The Awards have crowned 30 winners and celebrated countless multicultural businesses since their inception.
“Brisbane is the best city in the world to live and our talented multicultural business sector plays a key role in this,” said Lord Mayor, Adrian Schrinner.
“We’re a diverse city with more than one third of our residents having been born overseas and this brings incredible advantages to our city.
“We’re attracting talented business people, exploring innovative sectors and technologies, and inspiring the next generation of business leaders.
“Every new multicultural business creates jobs and helps to boost our local economy. I’m proud these awards will help to continue Brisbane’s strong multicultural business legacy.”
There are three award categories which recognise accomplishments across the breadth and depth of Brisbane’s business sectors. Awards include Multicultural Entrepreneur of the Year, Multicultural Business Person of the Year and the Nick Xynias Multicultural Young Business Person of the Year.
This year’s awards ceremony will be held on 8 November, with tickets available for purchase from September.
Proceeds from the event go towards the 2024 Lord Mayor’s Multicultural Business Scholarship Program.
Nominations open today and close on Sunday 21 July.
