Brimbank council CEO contract extended

Brimbank Council has unanimously endorsed a five-year extension to the contract of Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Fiona Blair.

Mayor, Virginia Tachos (pictured with Ms Blair) said the reappointment reflected Ms Blair’s strong record of achievement and exemplary management since commencing in the role in January 2022.

“Ms Blair has been instrumental to the smooth running of Council business. We’re fortunate to have secured such a highly-skilled, experienced and well-respected CEO for the next five years,” the Mayor said.

“Fiona’s strong focus on leadership, organisational capability, as well as the safety and wellbeing of employees, means that Councillors can get on with the business of governing, knowing that the organisation is in safe hands.”

The Mayor said overall community satisfaction had also continued to grow under Ms Blair’s leadership, with Brimbank achieving its highest-ever satisfaction score in the May 2025 survey.

Council staff have benefited from Ms Blair’s leadership style and focus on capability-building, which has driven the establishment of the Brimbank Leadership Network, the bWell Framework and Workforce Plan, she said.

“I am honoured to be reappointed as the CEO of Brimbank and I thank the Mayor and Councillors for their confidence, continued support and their ongoing dedication to the community,” Ms Blair said.

“I’m very proud of what we have achieved at Brimbank, and it is a privilege to lead an organisation with staff who are so passionate about making a positive difference for the Brimbank community.

“I am excited to have the opportunity to continue to lead the organisation to deliver for the Brimbank community; there is more work to be done to make Brimbank even better,” she said.
