Waverley Council lifeguards have formed an honour guard for the late Queen Elizabeth II as the nation marked an official day of mourning for Her Majesty yesterday.
The lifeguards were joined by Waverley Mayor, Paula Masselos, Bondi Surf Bathers Life Saving Club president, Brent Jackson and North Bondi Surf Club president, Andrew Christopher, along with a contingent of local NSW Police for the honour guard tribute in front of the new Bondi Pavilion.
Following a minutes’ silence at 11am, the guard of honour was performed.

An honour guard was held on that day to welcome the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Philip.
It was the Queen’s first Australian visit following her coronation.
