Mildura Rural City Council has announced it will restart the recruitment process in its search for a new strategy general manager.
Council Chief Executive Officer, Martin Hawson said the decision followed an exhaustive process in recent months to recruit four general managers – three of whom have now been appointed.
“We have decided to go back to the market and restart the recruitment process for the new role of General Manager Strategy and Growth,” said Mr Hawson.
“Despite this thorough recruitment process, which included reviewing 36 expressions of interest and undertaking several interviews with candidates, we were not able to appoint someone to the General Manager Strategy and Growth position.
“Finding the right person with the necessary skill-set, together with the change management abilities to lead this new department, is crucial to the future success of the organisation, making it the right decision to restart recruitment for this role.”
