Applications are now open for the Federal Government’s $150 million urban Precincts and Partnerships Program (uPPP).
The program provides funding for the design and delivery of urban precincts that transform cities and suburbs.
It focuses on a unique partnership approach, bringing together governments, communities and businesses through collaboration and joint investment to deliver precincts that build better cities and more liveable suburbs.
The uPPP complements the regional Precincts and Partnerships Program (rPPP), which opened in August 2023 to support the delivery of precincts in regional, rural and remote Australia.
The announcement follows the opening of the Government’s $350 million Thriving Suburbs Program on Saturday.
“The Thriving Suburbs Program will fund community infrastructure across our capital cities, suburban and peri-urban communities, such as libraries, parks, and sporting and cultural facilities,” said Infrastructure and Local Government Minister, Catherine King.
“The Albanese Government committed to establishing new suburban funding programs focused on integrity, transparency, accountability and collaboration – and this is what we’re delivering.
“We wanted to ensure a fair process for all Australians after a decade of mismanagement by the previous Liberal and Nationals Government who put politics before local priorities.
“Supporting communities to better plan and deliver local infrastructure, including precincts, is critical to developing productive, sustainable and resilient cities and suburbs,” she said.
