Sarah Nicholas has been elected as Mayor of the Alpine Shire Council, with Councillor Peter Smith elected as Deputy Mayor.
Mayor Nicholas said she’s looking forward to being part of a productive, proactive, and constructive leadership team with both the Council and Executive.
“My last term as Mayor, I was really focussed on continued improvement in community engagement and strategic planning, and I think we’re starting to hear that that’s got some legs and is running,” she said.
“What I’m hoping to do for this next year is help set the team up for the next four years to enable a really good working relationship with our community and therefore seek and find a strong community engaged with Council activities supported by smart economy, healthy environment, sustainability, and service excellence.”
