Albury approves funding for Eastern Hill master plan

Funding has been allocated for the development of a Master Plan for the Eastern Hill area in Albury, with feedback and input from all members of the community now being welcomed, AlburyCity Council has announced.

Eastern Hill is located to the east of the Albury CBD, and has views of Lake Hume and the Kiewa Valley from the ridgeline.

Linked with Mungabareena Reserve by the Hume and Hovell Walking track, it’s popular among locals and visitors for bushwalking, trail running, other recreational activities, or simply to take in the fresh air and soak up the magnificent views.

Council has developed the Draft Eastern Hill Activation Master Plan to enhance the experience and activate the area for a variety of users, following consultation with the community earlier in 2022.

More recently, the AlburyCity team have been actively engaging with the community during stage 2 consultation, which commenced in August.

“Lots of great feedback has been received, and with this second stage of consultation closing soon, we are encouraging our community to take the opportunity to ‘have your say’ and make a submission on the draft plan,” Council said in a statement

Submissions will be received until 4 October.

“Thank you to all those that have taken the time to share their thoughts on the draft plan, your input will ensure we move forward with a plan that meets a broad range of community needs.”

“We’re looking forward to reviewing all feedback and ideas, and presenting this back to Council at a future meeting for further review and consideration, together with any recommended amendments to the Draft Eastern Hill Activation Master Plan,” said Council CEO, Frank Zaknich.
