The Clean Air Society of Australia and New Zealand (CASANZ) is delivering the newly developed air quality course, Understanding and Managing Air Quality for Local Government (Councils), on 15 and 16 April 2025.
This is an online course previously delivered in December 2024.
The December course was well attended with more than 60 participants and CASANZ received excellent feedback from council officers. The course will incorporate case studies from around Australia and New Zealand as well as checklists, providing a range of resources to help council officers effectively manage amenity-based, air-quality issues in their communities.
Participants will gain knowledge in understanding better air-quality management, including how to:
- Identify common air pollutants and their sources;
- Understand the health and environmental impacts of poor air quality; and
- Implement strategies to improve air quality at the individual and community levels.
The course registration is open now and can be found on the CASANZ website. The course fee is $280 per participant. (Any registrations received after 8 April 2025 will incur a late registration fee of $100).
The NSW Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW) Air Policy Team will provide a limited subsidy of $150 per NSW council officer to reduce the course cost for up to 50 NSW council officers. NSW council officers can use the code 9851FA86 to apply the $150 discount.
The voucher code can be applied at the point of online registration through the CASANZ course page and applies to individual registrations only.
