Voting for the 2023 VLGA Board Elections is now open and closes Wednesday, 14 June at 5pm.
There are two elected representative (councillor) vacancies to be filled. In accordance with clause 31 of the VLGA’s Constitution, the two elected board members will hold office for three years subject to the provisions of this clause.
ALL councillors (and Administrators) at a VLGA member council are eligible to cast a vote. The VLGA encourages all eligible voters to participate.
If you have not received an email from the Australian Election Company (AEC) containing instructions on how to vote, please check your junk or ‘other’ mailbox, then contact us for a replacement.
Election timeline:
Friday 12 May 2023 – nominations open
Monday 29 May 2023 (5:00pm) – nominations close
Thursday 1 June (12:01am) until Wednesday 14 June (5:00pm) 2023 – Electronic Voting Ballot – A secret ballot will be conducted online
Wednesday 14 June 2023 – The Returning Officer declares candidates elected
Friday 1 July 2023 – The elected board members’ appointment commences.
*Please note, a council must be a VLGA member by midday on the 26 May 2023 in order for a councillor at the council to be eligible to nominate.
